Crime Stoppers needs your help in solving the following crime:
Sometime between the 4 pm on Saturday January 11th and 10 am on Sunday January 12th, several gates including 2 electronic yellow gates belonging to Mosaic Forestry Management were significantly damaged, and in one case removed from the site.
The yellow electronic access gate on Comox Main on the left side at the far end of Beaver Creek Rd was cut with a metal saw and the gate was taken out and removed from the site. A second yellow electronic main access gate located on Ash Main Rd at 28.6 km was cut in half to gain access to the private industrial logging road. There are also several other smaller gates in between these two access gates that were also tampered with.
The gates are usually left open on weekends for public access however with the weather and resulting poor road conditions, including unsteady banks roadside, Mosaic Forestry Management had kept them locked for public safety. The actions of the criminals involved in these acts of vandalism has resulted in excess of $10,000 in damages.
