Crime Stoppers needs your help in solving the following crime:
Someone has been cutting the gates at logging road access points.
Sometime between the late afternoon of Saturday February 16th and the early morning hours of Sunday February 17th, several forestry gates were destroyed when an unknown suspect or suspects cut them.
Four large yellow gates located on Island Timberlands private property were destroyed when the suspect or suspects appear to have used a gas powered saw or a welding torch to cut the cross members of the gates destroying the them. The affected gates are located on Ash Main, Comox Main and at the main entrance of Lois Lake.
Damages are estimated at approximately $10,000.
Several vehicles were seen in the immediate area of the gate at the 9.5 km marker on Ash Main, some of which appear to have traveled to the area to go snowmobiling. Anyone who was traveling through theses area over the weekend of Feb 16th to 17th and may have seen any other vehicles or suspicious activity is asked to contact the Port Alberni RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
