Crime Stoppers needs your help in solving the following crime:
On Sunday April 15th at 3:15 am, an unknown suspect broke into a storage site and a vehicle at the Co-Op gas station located on Beaver Creek Rd.
At 3:15 am, a black Dodge Ram 3500 pickup truck with BC plate HF9222 drove into the service station lot. The unknown suspect exited the truck and walked up to the store entry trying to open the door. Unable to enter he walked to the west side of the parking lot where a white Co-Op Chevrolet Express van was parked. The suspect smashed the driver’s side window before walking over to a metal storage container nearby and cutting the lock off. Nothing appears to have been stolen from the van nor the storage container. The suspect then returned to the pickup and drove away.
The 2012 black Dodge pickup truck had been reported stolen out of Nanaimo on Saturday April 14th and was recovered on April 21st. The suspect is described as a slender white man in his late 20’s to early 30’s, with facial hair possibly red in colour.
It appears that this suspect is also related to the break and enter at the Cap It store that was the subject of the Crime of the Week on April 16th.
